So, in recognition of the year coming to a close, and as a thankyou to all the wonderful authors and LJ writers out there who have helped brighten my 2002, I am happy to present to you The Nerodi Awards!
Now, winning a Nerodi Award, while something that every boy and girl should strive for, in reality means absolutely nothing. Well, no, it means that you wrote a piece of fanfiction that really made an impact on me, and considering how many stories are out there, and that I've read at least 1,000 of them (God help me), I dunno, I guess this is my way of saying thanks for making think, making me smile, or making me hot.
Caveats: I almost only read Clark and Lex stories. I know there are some fabulous Chlex writers out there and I apologize in advance for not reading enough of your work. But, alas, I only have so many hours in a day to read fanfic, and for me, its all about my boys. Also, I do try to read a variety of authors, but like many of us, I do fall in to the habit of reading the same authors over and over while neglecting newer authors (which is absolutely ridiculous considering I myself have only written two real stories and many of you went out of your way to read them). So, in other words, my reading habits are far from perfect. Ah well, everything must be taken with an entire shaker of salt.
The categories have been made up by me, as I was falling asleep last night. They leave *much* to be desired. (Oh, also, I have tried to exclude stories for which I beta'd, or else the whole list would be stories by Rhiannonhero and jacynrebekah, but you know, sometimes they just sneak in there!)

Okay, I'm sure I've left off like 50 of my favorite stories and I'm terribly sorry if I've left anything out. If you have any ideas for other noteworthy categories or think I've missed some really good stories, please let me know. I'm always looking for good stuff.
So congratulations to all the winners. Unfortunately, although it is a quite an honor indeed, there is no monetary prize associated with the Nerodi awards.
