Holy crap! Update!
I've just had a couple of those weeks where I just haven't been able to find the motivation to update this journal type thingy! I have been kinda busy with the essay I had to hand in on wednesday. It took me ages to get my head around all of it and in the end it took me two visits to a tutor and 6 books to get it done, not to mention many late nights.......
......But here's the part that sucks: I don't have a printer in my room, so I always email myself my essay to my uni email and then print it out at a computer cluster on campus. After a few last minute additions and checking my bibliography I had about 30mins before I had to hand it in. "Plenty of time!" I hear you cry, and I would usually agree. But alas, as Keats said, it all went tits up. I tried three computers, two crashed and one just wouldn't let me get into my email inbox. In the end, I had to go up to the IT help desk and save it to my profile. By this time however, it was 3:40pm....already 10 mins late. All that hard work, just be fucked up by stupid computers. I was absolutely gutted.
Also really worried about my older brother at the moment...he's a dentist, but he's doing training to become a facial surgeon, so that means lots of night shifts and work in A&E. Last week he was giving a 3 year old girl an injection of anaesthetic. Unfortunately, the little girl kicked out and the needle went through Sean's glove and went in his hand. Here's the worst part, the girl was HIV positive. He went to see a few doctors and they all said that there was actually a low risk of him being infected, but he has to be tested in a month or two. In the meantime, he's on loads of antiretrovirals that are making him really ill. I know everything should be ok, but we're all still really worried.
On a happier note, I went to see V for Vendetta....it rocked, I will have to see it again very soon! It's a shame that it came out after Equilibrium and other similar movies, because people will just dismiss it as being another movie like that rather than being the adaptation of the graphic novel. Note to myself: I need to get my hands on a copy of that graphic novel, books are always better than the films, so I think that it's a safe bet that it will totally fucking rock!!
