So I'm hoping people will pay attention when I do. Today I went shopping for a new electric provider, and I found Green Mountain Energy
They are somewhat more expensive than petroleum and coal-based electricity providers, although not by a lot. All of their electricity is produced by renewable or sustainable sources - wind, sun, water, natural gas. Most importanly, having people switching to this company creates a demand. Companies follow economic demand; that is and has always been the only way to effect lasting positive environmental change, is to make it economically desirable that a polluting industry change its established routine in favor of a new technology. So, if you can, please check these folks out and seriously consider switching your electric provider. You'll be doing yourself, your state, and your environment a huge favor.
