Jumping on the bandwagon
Okay, I know I am seriously going to regret this but....
ARGHHHHH!
I don't mind people sharing their experience about Asylum GOOD OR BAD. What was wrong with it- what was right with it- Those experiences are fine but one thing that keeps going around which is really annoying me is that the staff of Asylum disrespected the guests.
NOT TRUE. (What I witnessed and how I worked- that certainly WAS NOT TRUE)
I don't think people realise that sometimes the changes that happen are due to the guests and the guests decisions. I'm not saying that Asylum didn't have its faults. Naturally that is evident.* BUT- People seem to think that Jensen and Jared were deeply unhappy etc etc. I really, personally IMO don't think that's true. They worked well- they worked within what they could and a lot of what happened was because they were trying to make sure that the fans/attendees got an autograph/photo etc etc.
I know that a lot of people were disappointed with Asylum and truly, I am sorry that they didn't have a good time- God knows, I know what that's like as I've been a convention goer now for YEARS and I've been to some where you really don't think you get what you've paid for. So people commenting on that- that's understandable- but I just want to know where this- THE GUESTS WERE UNHAPPY comes from? I mean, I will listen to your opinion if you don't flame mine- I just want to know where this comes from, because *I* didn't see that happen and I know a lot of people were working hard - be it if some crew members were rude to attendees, I don't know. But I know for damn sure that I didn't raise my voice to anyone and I wanted people to be kept in the know of everything because I've been in that situation where NOTHING is happening and you don't know what's going on.
Please enlighten me....? I'm not trying to start wank here (some of you are probably thinking DAEA WHAT ARE YOU DOING?) But I really want to know what the hell is going on- because I know where some of the grumbles are coming from (queues etc) and prices of things- but the unhappiness of the guests- I seriously want to know because- I really don't think guests (ANY guest) won't do something they TRULY don't want to do- I know there's money involved but- if they didn't want to do it- WHY DO IT THEN?
I dont want to fall out with any of my flist- if you think the guests were unhappy COMMENT to me- I'd like to know your opinion. This is a discussion request- not a wank-fest.
(*All conventions have issues/problems/ faults and I think each (any) convention has room for improvement. A bad convention is (to me) if they do not learn from it- I've been to some piss poor conventions where I felt like crying and demanding my money back (no refunds!) and some where I know that the money I spent was worth it!)
