http://www.homeonthestrange.com/view.php?ID=30 A favorite quip thus far: "Nerds don't have friends--we have receptacles to pour our various fandoms into."
It's been a bit difficult as of late to reflect on what's going on around me. When life is a cycle of frantic study, roleplaying at the front of a classroom, writing, and the occasional brewsky-aided jaunt into semi-catatonia, there just isn't time to do much else.
My kiddos are pretty sharp this time around, and that awkward fear of their first-semester counterparts is gone. They're more comfortable, and so am I. This makes for more heated discussion (I had a girl break down in tears on me after class last week), but overall I think we're woozily two-stepping in the right direction.
On a lighter and lovelier note, I've been dating someone for about five months now. Her name is Beth, and she made me a squadron of origami X-wings. I think you all can imagine the impact this act would have on my affections. She's full of things like that.
Life is better than it's been in a long, long while.
