Oh Juan, don't beat yourself up. You can't tell everyone everything all the time. While you and I are open and accepting, few other people are so what is meant as simple honesty is too often taken as a personal assault. Many people are so self-serving that EVERYTHING is seen in relation to their own lives rather than as a big picture. Don't you think that's probably why American society is so driven by money and power rather than true accomplishment and authority?
I also think you'd be suprised at how much people are aware of your caring. As much as it's hard to verbalize, the things you do belie (sp?) your feelings to some extent. You might not be able to tell someone how good a friend they are, but it's evident you do care.
You don't need to feel guilty, selfish, cowardly or anything else of that sort about who you are. We all have our bad moments, but more often tham not you are an exceptional person. Don't forget that.
I'm sorry that I wasn't around for you to chat with tonight. Let me know when you want to talk or give me a call. You know I'm always around for you to talk to.
It will get better, I promise. It might take a while, but it will get better.
