First LJ entry!!
This is my first entry ever. I'm not sure exactly what to say...It's my 1 month anniversary with my boyfriend, and stuff is going well. Classes are going well, but it's coming down to crunch time. I am not going to think about that just yet. I've been writing poetry like crazy. And I keep having the idea pop into my head of trying to get my poems published. Here's a cheerful one for my baby:
Forgotten Desert
The desert of my soul
was cracked and dried.
Caked blood streaked
down the sides.
Sand blew, cutting and
sticking in old wounds.
Sometimes it would rain
Flower fields would spring up
with bright colors.
But as soon as the rain left,
the flowers would wither up,
and the ground would dry and
crack again.
But you came.
With a refreshing flood-
clean and bubbling.
It washed away
old blood,
and cleansed old wounds,
and made lakes
and oceans,
and put a
green,
lush
forest
inside my soul-
a forgotten desert.
