EESH!

I haven't posted since October! Eesh. Keep meaning to...
Okay. Perhaps a bit about me, for virtual friends is a good place to start. Yes, Wally, I'm a copycat. Hush. : )
I turned 48 last year. I'm ticked off that we haven't made it to Mars yet. Hey, when you grow up with all the excitement of moon landings, it breeds certain expectations. I am a huge scifi and fantasy geek.  I love comics, but mostly read them online these days. Husband doesn't work at the comic book store anymore, and the budget only stretches so far. Raising a geeklette, who I'm very proud of. My music tastes are quite eclectic. I'm a bookstore drone. I've always regretted never getting a degree-I went to college 2 1/2 years, took a little bit of everything, which was wonderful-but there never was any one thing I could settle on, or shone at. But making a living without one sucks!  If I won the lottery-I think I'd go back just for fun.
I am a luddite-I know so little of computers, ect. I'm artsy-I can't draw, but I love making things. I read mysteries-I love period stuff.  I have a lot of 20's to 60's genre stuff, as well as new stuff. I find lots of good fiction in the so called'intermediate reader/young adult section. Always loved fantasy/sci fi. Poetry. I can read a well written cookbook and like it. A big collection of art books-most bought on remainder. I've enjoyed teaching myself about various schools of art, and different artists. Yes, my place is crowded. I suppose I have an artistic apreciation of science, if that makes any sense. Maybe I'll expand on that another day.
I think math belongs in the forgien language department. I miss role playing games-I did old school D and D, Tunnels and Trolls-did that online for a while, fun!, lots of Champions, dabbled in Shadowrun....what else?
Went to my first scifi convention 2 years ago. Big fun. We took the kid with us last year. It may be canceled this year though-venue problems. Boo!
I've been having big gangs of fun writing and reading on the Mad Scientist Wars, and I've made friends there. And that's not a reference to the Frankenstein Grand Prix. : ) Also becoming hooked on Shadow Unit. It's a co-operative story, a website for a non existant tv show, written by Emma Bull (my favorite writer!), Elizabeth Bear, Will Shetterly, and others. Kind of a paranormal CSI...hard to describe, but exceedingly cool.
Got questions? Comments? Feel free to ask.
Okay, that'd do for a start to the new year.
And yes, I noticed how I did a lot of likes and dislikes, but not a lot of personal stuff, when you get right down to it. maybe later?  We'll see.  Hopefully, I won't wait a few months before I post again.
Okay, end of blathering...
