My great niece passed on last tuesday night. Services tuesday, funeral wednesday-about an hour away from here. Haven't cried yet. It's going to hit me out of the blue later.
Everyone's been wonderful. Work, friends, family.
Saturday was a weird day. Get up-a work day, and Kid has doctor appt. No big, I'll hit the coffee shop next to work for a hour, while he takes her in. Decide to go online, see if funeral arrangements have been posted on website yet. The monitor has given up the ghost.Simultaneously, the phone rings-mom's in hospital(She's fine!). Sibling says go to work, I'll call you there. On the way, there's an ominous scraping sound. from under the car. Great. Fortunately, there's a goodyear, also convieniently by work. Piece of plastic was loose, they fixed it in five minutes and didn't charge us.
Kid was smart-she remembered someone had given us their old computer, monitor, ect-for whenever kid manages to shovel out her room enough to set up desk & stuff. So we just hooked that one up. Didn't have to spend money (yet), yay!
I went ahead and left work to see mom, because I was just worrying myself silly. But it was just a weird inner ear thing she's suffered before, and high blood pressure due to the stress. Her best friend's husband just killed himself, the same week Alyssa died. Poor mom! But after spending the day there, they sent her home. I'm glad she went in-it could've been something serious.
What a long. strange trip it's been....been posting like crazy, being silly on other forums. Eh, it's my distraction. Worse ways to unwind, right?
My daughter out of the blue today informed me life was good.
I agreed.
