Another wedding
My boyfriend's dad is getting married again!
His parents have been separated since he was 8 and they divorced after he turned 18 (so they, even though they weren't together, always shared custody for him - very responsible!) and his dad has been together with his girlfriend for almost 10 years now.
Then, three weeks ago, he announces that we cannot make any plans for the 6th of november, because 'there's a party'. Turns out they're getting married after all this time!!! Wowza.
We are in on the best gift ever, too. Actually, we're not chipping in any money, just decorations and such (because we are oh so poor) and the gift is a flight to New York, 4 days in the Waldorf Astoria and then a trip on the Queen Mary 2 back to Hamburg, where they will arrive during the next port-birthday (Hafengeburtstag) which is a huge party to celebrate the very old port of Hamburg. It is going to turn 810 next year.
So, we are off now to celebrate another wedding. It is going to be so much fun, with the ceremony in a port, the celebration at night on top of the Dortmund television tower.
