Sam was probably beautiful even as a human, but as a nonhuman, he carries such grace and elegance and charm that it takes Danny's breath away sometimes, knowing that this beautiful creature is all his.
He touches the marks on his neck gingerly, still swollen from earlier even though Sam is always so gentle with him, and Sam makes a soft sound next to him, reaching out in his sleep to rest his fingertips on Danny's bicep, stilling soon after and falling back into whatever equivalent sleep is for him.
There's absolutely no sound in the room except for Danny's breathing, and the occasional noise of the air conditioner kicking in, even though there's no need for it because Sam is icy cold, something that always comes as a bit of a shock to Danny, no matter how many times he touches Sam.
