So.. I just got home and I'm exhausted!
Matt and I decided to head up to New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon to see what trouble we could get into. We both had Sunday and today off, so what the heck?
We ended up driving all the way up to Berlin (FOREVER AWAY) where his parents were at a wedding reception for the long-time friends' son. WE CRASHED THAT SHIT, YO! Good food, good people, good cheap alcohol! We didn't stay very late, but long enough to enjoy ourselves. We found a crappy motel not far away that was cheap. Let me tell you-- that's a challenge on a Saturday night! We had to call 12 places before we found something!!
The next morning we hooked up with his parents for a little while and helped clean up after the party. Then continued on our way to North Conway and Lincoln. We played 3 games of mini-golf. One place was AWESOME! It had all these stairs you had to climb like tree houses. It was by-far the best course I've played on. The second was Pirates Cove which had two 18-hole courses, one supposedly more challenging than the other. They were decent.. one frustrated me to no end so I hated it. haha. But they were alright-- they were very pretty and well-maintained. If you were unaware... Matt and I are VERY serious about our mini-golf.. usually betting on something (lunch, buying a CD or snack for the other) and usually I lose... haha. We play whenever we go anywhere.
We ended up staying in Lincoln, where we've stayed before. We had dinner at a place in Woodstock, which was awesome. Then got some drinks and hung around the hotel room we got, I went swimming (FREEEEZING) and crashed early.
This morning we got up before 7 and headed to York Beach, Maine. We went to the beach and baked in the sun. I got a lot of good reading in. The water was a little too cold for me so I didn't swim. We got pizza for lunch and then went to the zoooo!! York Animal Kingdom is great because you can feed all kinds of animals and touch them-- what's better than that?? One of the monkeys had a baby and I wanted to die, SO CUTE!! She just swung around with it strapped to her belly. There were TONS of baby goats and the Bobcat had a baby that looked like a kitten that I want to take home and snuggle and feed it Kitten Chow! SOO CUTE! You can feed the goats, reindeer, ducks and llamas-- so fun!!
We decided to head home after that because we were both beat. So here we are! It was a much-needed escape. I missed my kitties a lot. What am I going to do when I'm in Mexico??
Oh yeah... 18 days until Mexico! NUTS!
