"WOO YEAH!"
"TAEMIN! LOOK OUT FOR THOSE PEDESTRIANS!"
Screech. They watched as they barely missed an elderly couple on the sidewalk. Jinki watched in terror as the man picked himself and his wife off the ground before glaring at their speeding van. He could hear Taemin giggling ecstatically in the front seat, watched as Key sat in the passenger seat and felt Jonghyun's hand digging into his arm next to him, both of the younger boy's shrieks seeming to harmonize together. He scrunched his eyes closed and locked arms with Minho, feeling some sort of relief as he felt Minho press his cheek against his head consolingly, hearing him whispering prayers and incoherent mumbles.
He did not know or even understand how they let Taemin take the wheel.
"You guys, it's OKAY. We'll be fine. I'm an amazing driver." Taemin had reassured them not more then ten minutes before. "I'll prove I don't need a driver's license to drive."
My butt.. "amazing" driver, Jinki thought, opening his eyes just in time to see Taemin swerve to the side of the road right before hitting a lamppost. Oh god, they were all going to die.
"TAEMIN, STOP THIS CAR RIGHT NOW!" Key barked as he clutched the seats, handlebars, anything to keep himself from flying through the window shield. "SERIOUSLY! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"
"Aw hyung, it's okay. We'll be fine~" He flashed them an innocent smile right before abruptedly turning a corner. "Look at me! I'm doing GREAT!"
"Y-YOU-- OW!" Jonghyun squealed as he was thrown into the window and smacked back into Jinki. "THAT FREAKING HURT TAEMIN."
"WE'RE GONNA DIEEEE!" Jinki cried, bawling into Minho as the taller boy began hyperventilating, "NO, WE'RE GONNA GET ARRESTED THEN DIE!!"
"You guys worry too much."
"HOLY SHIT, DOG WALKER!"
"NO NO NO! HIT THE BRAKES NOT ACCELERATE TAEMIN!"
"OH SO CUTE! HYUNG, LOOK AT THE DOGS!"

Getting a bowl of cereal shouldn't have been so.. complicated. All Jonghyun wanted was his Lucky Charms that morning. But no, Kibum had to be standing right in front of the stupid cupboard, drinking his stupid hot tea and not paying attention to anything else except stupid Taemin and Minho playing stupid games in the dining room. So stupid.
"Hungry.." Grumbling to himself, Jonghyun stumbled into the kitchen. It was 4 in the afternoon, and he had just woken up from a rare nap, so cereal sounded great at that moment. He rubbed his eyes clean of any rubbish and stared tiredly into space. "Cereal.."
"Hello sleeping beauty." A voice scoffed from somewhere.. that wasn't next to him, Jonghyun had realized dumbly in a tired haze. He blinked and Kibum came into focus, leaning against the fridge, watching the blonde in amusement.
"Shut up Diva." He grumbled as he moved to the cabinet that contained his Lucky Charms. He stood next to Kibum, their shoulders brushing. "You should respect your hyung."
A snort reached his ears, Kibum turning his back to him, and he took that as the younger not caring anymore. He shrugged and whipped the cupboard open hard. Maybe a little too hard.
A smack was heard throughout the house. Taemin and Minho had paused the game to stop and watched in terror as Kibum's face began to distort in emotions of anger, pain and--
"Oh. Uhm. So, shit?" Jonghyun drawled, smiling apologetically to the back of the multi-colored hair boy who was rubbing his head angrily. He raised his hands in front of him, taking careful steps backwards, hoping that the large bump on the younger boy's head was just part of his imagination. "K-Kibum, I'm sorry.."
"Hey guys, I'm back! What are--" As soon as Jinki had walked into the kitchen, he felt a dark aura surround and engulf him. "Wha-"
"You're about to be in a lot of shit soon, dinosaur." Fire blazed in the Diva's eyes, as Jinki side-stepped into the dining room. "I'll give you five seconds."
Now all Jonghyun had was a large bruise under his right eye, and no cereal and no dinner that night.

They sat silently in the cafe that day like every other day. On school nights, Taemin would rush down to meet Key during his shifts at work, when it was almost time to close, to sit together, watch life outside zoom past in fast moving blurs and colors. But for Taemin, time seemed to slow down for them during these times. Just for them, just a bit. During these moments, he would watch as the older boy would constantly cross a leg over the other (the right leg), the way a smile would stay on his lips when Taemin would tell him about his day, always wearing a light, pastel pink scarf around his neck even though it "clashed" with his orange work apron. Always a soft expression as he would look out the window then back at Taemin, back and forth, again and again.
They would also always sit opposite each other, never next to one another. Never close enough for skin to brush, not ever.
Taemin was okay with that though. Or he assured himself he was.
"What?" Kibum questioned when he noticed the other staring at him, unconsciously touching his face. He smiled embarrassed at the younger boy.
I love you, that's what.
Taemin shrugged as he took a sip of his hot chocolate, he spoke casually, as if addressing someone his own age. Only glancing up from underneath eyelashes at the other from time to time. "You're just really beautiful, that's it."
"Oh." The other breathed, eyes downcast. Taemin stared at him, he didn't expect a big response. He turned to look outside once again, a frown etched onto his lips, bringing his legs up on the couch to hug them to his chest tightly. Hoping it could hold his heart together, because it seemed like he was falling, his limbs giving up. He closed his eyes shut slowly, breathing in the scent of coffee grinds and vanilla.
He didn't expect what happened next. His breathing faltered as he felt a dip in the couch next to him, then arms around his waist, slow lips on his neck, tear drops staining his skin. He shuddered at the longed for skin ship.
"Hyung." He sighed as he placed his hands on the other's forearm, which had him pulled against the older. "You don't have to do this."
Because he didn't. Taemin could handle it if Kibum couldn't return his feelings.
"I do love you though, Taemin." His voice broke, his arms shaking. "I. I do. I just.."
But he knew..
"No." The brown haired boy smiled an empty smile, as he turned to place a kiss on the other's lips hesitantly. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Cause he would. He'd always come running for Kibum, even if it was just to have a simple hot chocolate and quiet small talk that they wouldn't remember the next day.
Grabbing his backpack, he walked out onto the street, becoming part of the fast blurs and colors himself. Glancing behind himself to see Kibum watching with a soft expression from the inside of the cafe through the large glass window, tears mixing with his caramel latte, his scarf wrapped even tighter around his neck.
Kibum couldn't love him like he did.
He finally let out the breath he didn't know he was holding.

He didn't know what to do.
"Oh why, why, why?" Jinki whispered to himself. Why him?
He watched as the young four year old sat quietly on the ground, staring up at him to do something, anything. The others had left him for an hour to watch Yoogeun, to run to the market "quickly". Yeah right, he thought. If Kibum was doing the shopping, Jinki would be alone all day.
He nearly jumped a foot in the air when he noticed that Yoogeun had run across the room, nearly out the door.
He cursed Kibum and Minho for being better dads then him. Cursed Taemin and Jonghyun for telling him that he would do fine, when he knew he obviously WOULDN'T. He sighed as he dashed forward to grab the squealing, squirming baby. Why in the world did they think he'd be fine by himself to watch the baby.
He couldn't do this, Yoogeun didn't even like him. He couldn't--
"Appa~" Yoogeun laughed as he gently placed a hand on his "father's" face. Jinki stared in surprise, as Yoogeun curled into him, smiling as he wrapped his fingers into Jinki's scarf. He cooed as he closed his eyes shut.
"Maybe.." Moving to the couch, he sat down slowly, careful not to wake the so very pretty baby. "Maybe I'll be okay."
And until the others came home, all astonished at the sight that greeted them, Jinki cradled the young one in his arms.
"Looks like Minho.."
