Which, btw, would be a normal thing, but for her it's not, really.
So on her tumblr, Jordyn has been doing this 30 day television meme, where she answers things like "which tv show do you wish more people were watching?" "Which show did you find disappointing?" And on her post about her all-time favourite tv show (spoiler alert: it's Get Smart), she asked her followers what their answer would be. I started to type in Grey's Anatomy because I've watched it longer than any other show. Before I even reached the y, I stopped and thought for a second. It is the show I've watched for the most seasons, and it is one of the very few shows I watch religiously every week, and the only show that I am currently buying boxed sets for, but I don't really think it's my favourite show of all time.
That honour goes to X-Men: Evolution. It's the show I watched for years, the show that I still watch, the show that I own all of the (released) dvds for, and the show I was/am the most attached to. I don't watch it all the time because it's been off the air for years, but it's still the one that I obsess over. I can tell you all the characters, identify episodes by name, and spout off little-known facts and trivia like no one's business. For all intents and purposes, that is my favourite show.
But for the record? The best show this season is by far Castle. I love Grey's, Glee, & HIMYM, but c'mon, this season is amazing. And the last few minutes of this week's episode broke my heart. Also, I think Jenny should watch this, because it's got that whole Mulder & Scully thing going on. Let me rephrase that, everybody should be watching this show.
And yeah, I obviously didn't have a topic planned for today. I wrote a 4 pg paper on eighteenth century literature and society in an hour for my lit exam today. I think I'm entitled to talk about something of arguable importance.
Comment questions!
1. What is your all-time favourite tv show?
2. When taking an exam, do you prefer to type or hand-write your essays? We had a choice today, and I, of course, chose typing. Which is why I finished in half the time alloted.
3. Now that we're partway into the series, how do you feel about Doctor Who? I like it okay and I love Eleven, but I really cannot get behind Amy. She's pretty and she's amusing, but she pales in comparison to the other companions. I'm not even sure I like her.
4. What book should I read over the summer?
Gaby, I wish you luck in your job search. Toni, I hope your Dickinson paper goes well & that you can squeeze out another two pages before tomorrow. Hilary, I hate you for being done with school. But I love you. And Jenny, we'll hear from you tomorrow! (and maybe you'll grace us with a comment on the drama across the pond?)
