The One in Which Jez Tells You Things You Don't Know
So, when I suggested this theme for the week I had a great "secret" to share...and now I can't remember what it was. I am stuck here scratching my head because I don't know what the internet doesn't know about me! I mean, seriously, my mom was right, you guys probably know everything already! You know that I am a puma, that I am Simba, that I listen to music from both sides of the spectrum, you know that I am a walking contradiction, and you even know all my crappy health stuff! Besides, I thought, what does the internet want to know about me? The answer, of course, was nothing. Or so twitter tells me, because no one responded to my desperate pleas for help.
Stef, however, responded to my skype message and asked me if I could have any pet, what would I choose? Now, here's something you might not know about me (maybe you do though?): I hate pets and I should never be allowed to have one. I don't think I could even have a pet rock, because I would lose it. My dog Sox is okay, but I am not in charge of taking care of her. Mugsy? Hhahaha. Yeah right, that dog is an idiot & drives me crazy. I do not want pets in the future, I will live alone in my writer's solitude. I will be Emily Dickinson AND I WILL LIKE IT. I bet if Emily Dickinson lived in the 21st century she would be me. ...or an emo MySpace blogger. Whichever. No, I take that back, she would be my tumblr account.
I did something new today, girls! I got my car washed. Yeah, not that exciting, I know. But see...my car kind of went off the road & got stuck in the mud last night? Everything's cool, and my brother's friend's mom got it out for me with her truck, but half of my car was caked in mud. Just half. And it looked horrendous, so I went to get it washed & I went to an actual car wash instead of a gas station because...I don't know what to do at a gas station car wash. You can pay at the pump...but then how do they know you paid for it? Do you get a token? Is there someone over there to help you? I DON'T KNOW. So I go to a car wash & as I'm going in there I realize I've never done this before, not with my car, not with me driving. It's surreal, too, moving without driving.
Another thing you may not know about me: I don't eat pork. Not for any religious reason, I just don't eat it. Tonight my mom made a pork roast & she wouldn't let me have anything else until I ate it. I can't remember the last time I had pork, probably when I was little, and at first I was like "this is okay-ish, not great, but okay" and then I swallowed and the aftertaste was disgusting. So, I don't like pork.
Um...here's a confession that some of our readers (or you?) will hate me for. Beatlemania 2.0 is killing my love for the Beatles. I can still listen to their music for the most part, but I am really starting to lose interest. I don't even understand Beatlemania2.0! Why the sudden resurgence, guys‽ Yes they rereleased a digitally mastered collection, so what? How does that generate new fans? Rock band? Maybe, but that's a really crappy way to get into music. I do not understand you, world! And you guys, these pictures you're fanning over? They are from 40+ years ago. I just...I don't understand. And your zealous fanning is killing my love for the band. I'm sorry I have offended you, because I know at least two of you are reading this right now. It's nothing personal, really.
