The One in Which Jez Is Barred From the Water Park
Today after work my family was supposed go to Magic Waters, a water park near my relatives up in The Land of No Wifi. I wanted to leave work a half hour early when the counsellors are supposed to start their meeting, but the earliest I could get out was 11:56, a whole 4 minutes early! I get home and we make the drive up North, grab a quick (and delicious) lunch at my aunt's house and drive over to the park where we couldn't even get to the entrance. Apparently they were full to capacity for the day and wouldn't even let us into the parking lot. So that sucked.
But there is a silver lining! My aunt decided that instead we would go to the Discovery Center which was a lot of fun. They added a new "AgZibit" on agriculture (oh farm country) which was neat and interactive. They even had a "smells of the farm" table. I think this is how city kids experience the farm, haha. They also added a lot of communications things, like a "news centre" where the kids can read from a teleprompter, and a telegraph. They also had a thing where you could put yourself in a headline of a newspaper & it would print one up for you! So now I have irrefutable proof that I saved a beached whale, just ask purewanderlust if you don't believe me. It's kind of awesome.
Then we got more corn! Mwahaha! I think we came home with about ten or eleven dozen ears, but we share with our neighbors a lot. We probably kept about three or four and I'm working my way into my first ear of this planting now. Tomorrow my aunt & uncle are working on picking, husking, & freezing the next planting so that we can still have fabulous corn in November. I love coming from farm stock.
