I don't think anyone with this blog friended didn't ALSO see these on FB, but just in case! (Also I use this to make sure the picture links work all right for community posts, so you're guinea pigs of a sort.)
Anyways.
Engagement pictures! Aaron wanted some pictures of us that weren't wedding pictures, and we'd already booked our wedding photographer so we could get them at a discount and eeeeeeehhhh why not. I have a weird face and Aaron didn't want me weird-facing all over the wedding pictures, or maybe he considered weird-facing on my part unavoidable and just wanted the photographer to know what she was in for.
The good: The pictures! Weird face and all. Aaron always looks good in pictures but I rarely do, so having some nice pictures to look at is a good ego boost. I'm also way less nervous about having wedding pictures taken now, my photographer really tried to make me comfortable with what was going on. I was using the pictures as kind of a progress check for my foundation skills, as well- I figured if my skin looked OK in the pictures I would go ahead with my DIY make-up plan for the wedding, and if I looked horrorshow I would give over to the professionals. I'm satisfied by my progress (and by how easy my hair was to style now that its short) so DIY is still on the table.
The not-so-good: We somehow picked the sunniest, uncloudiest day of the year so far to take the pictures, which ruled out some spots. It was also one of the windiest, which is why I reference the cute hairstyle above but present no evidence in the pictures below. I had a second, more formal outfit picked out but forgot it at home and thus took every picture in a snarky t-shirt and ratty jeans, which is very "me" but maybe not so much, "hey MIL here is an adorable framed picture of us for your wall." Aaron wanted piggyback ride pictures, but then he dropped me. I still have the bruise a week later.
