She was so focused on doing her homework that she almost didn’t notice him walking by. Almost. She wouldn’t miss it for a thing. Even knowing that would be impossible for them to be together, she’d still watch him walk by, every chance she gets. Everyday was the same thing. She eats her lunch and sits on one of those tables at the patio and studies, writes fanfiction, does her homework… and thinks about him. She thinks about all the things they could do together, she thinks about what would be his reaction if he found out how she feels about him, how she loved him! Just being in the same school and occasionally seeing him wasn’t enough, she wanted more.

She was all he could think about. He used to watch her do her homework, from a safe distance so she didn’t freak out if she found out that he was stalking her. He loved her, but his shyness would never allow him to ever speak to her. His classes were in another building, far away from hers. But he used to hang out there, near her, just so they could occasionally exchange glances. He liked the way she looked so focused studying, he liked how her hair looked when she ran he fingers through it and he liked how red her cheeks got every time he looked at her in the eyes. All that he wanted to do was to hold her in his arms, and tell her how he feels. Tell her that he loves her.

All those things ran through their minds as they saw each other, every day, from a safe distance; dreaming about the day that distance would not exist anymore.
