(no subject)
So its been awhile. Quick updates on life in general:
-Crazy girl moved out.
-I almost died. Was driving home during beginning of snow storm, semi started creeping into my lane, combination of wind, blowing snow and my own overcorrection in steering sent me across the median, across the two lanes of highway going the opposite direction before ending up in a ditch.
-Along with Mon. and Wed. night classes, I now am doing our Thurs. night medical clinic and attending a Tues. night legal clinic- 4 days in a row of 13-15 hour days (leaving at 7:30 or 8 and not getting back until 9:30 or 10- tonight it was 11) in heels.
-I approached the director about things bugging me. Things got better: she made time for me, arranged for me to attend some conferences... Since then, she's cancelled the conferences and meetings she'd arranged and stopped making time for me...
-Still waiting to hear back from grad schools... Keeping my fingers crossed for Des Moines
Overall, I've been in a much better mood than I had been at the beginning of the semester... instead of getting me sad and bummed, placement frustrations are just getting me annoyed and ticked and increasingly cynical and apathetic... not caring though suits me a lot better than fighting tears on my way home every day because i'm so upset about the situation... :) Not only am I almost halfway done, but I'm ready to be assertive to get what I want and need from my placement, either with this agency or requesting a new placement, and have the potential and enough inside information (let's just say the director is more than lacking in the ethics and management departments) to cause problems or at least cause concern to get some changes happening for the agency- it has a lot of potential... its just been mismanaged.
