so in churches, people often do a call & response
"god is good" then the crowd responds "all the time."
i've been shifting that over to the goddess is good, all the time.
as a moon worshipping pagan type, this week and tonight are good. pink moon.
like a nick drake song. and in some parts of the world, also an eclipse.
it's been a busy week, the last full one for poetry month.
the last few hours have been fun & interesting. i realized that members of
my poet team who are graduating have their show tonight instead of last night.
the goddess does not want me to hallmark card my feminism.
i took it as a sign & cancelled on the highbrow gig.
more trouble than it seemed worth and mutually awkward.
i *hate* to cancel gigs, especially last minute, but i was very polite in declining,
explaining that this is the last time i'll see my mentees perform
until i don't know when.
then, a little bit earlier today, i put it together that
one of the music instructors at the Kroc Center, (where the many feral children amanda & me & several others sponsor have been going for after school programs) is the brother of Errin Vuley.
Errin was a feminist activist killed in a hit and run accident a few years ago. I helped her partner pack up their house afterwards. Errin was an early Cliterati supporter (and she's been coming up a lot for me with this whole feminist women's health center thing because last time we did a benefit with that organization involved, it was co-sponsored by one of her organizations). anyway, i reached out to him today and he's excited to meet us some tuesday when he's giving music lessons to the kids.
felt a lot earlier about all of this.it's interesting how people reappear when they're no longer *actually* here anymore.
amanda just texted me with "i am no longer an atheist." yeah. days like this, with so much coincidence piled up, i can't quite be either.
