I did go to a furniture outlet store and found a cute little countertop-height bistro table for $200 including two tall chairs. I tried sitting in the chairs and they were comfortable, plus they were easy on my knee when I got up from them. I think I will go back and get that one, assuming it's still there next Friday.
I could have bought it today, but it would mean dipping into savings, so no.
