since all they contain is crap about school...
i went to see dr. osbourne last week about getting into classes that i'm not eligible for yet. at kean you have to apply for the teaching program separately from applying to the school. there's a massive list of criteria you have to meet in order to get in. we went over the list and the only thing i'm missing is my grade from a class i'm taking this semester. dr. osbourne looked at my gpa and said he doesn't see a problem with letting me in, handed me the application and told me he'd admit me to the program as soon as i brought it back. he was impressed with the fact that i have all of my paperwork together and told me he wished the other students were as organized. he also sent permission to the registrar's office to allow me to take the summer courses i want. woohoo!
summer classes are gonna suck. well, at least one is... yup, i took a class with an evil witch. go to ratemyprofessor.com and look up D. Allen at kean university. i am soooo screwed. she's teaching language and reading in prek/elem curriculum. my other class is social studies and contemporary issues in education. oh boy...
i also registered for the praxis II. i'm taking the elementary content in june and middle school earth science in july. wish me luck on those. according to dr. osbourne, i should also take 2 more in order to teach high school level and be "marketable". but, do i bother with those if i'm just going to move to florida (where they don't use Praxis)? now i have to find the books to study for them... off to www.bn.com...
