Meow!

I've been reading that people who are allergic to cats often can tolerate the Siberian cat, a big, furry, Maine Coon-like cat from Russia, since it apparently has very little of the chemical which makes people react in its saliva. I've been searching around looking for breeders of the "Siberische Boskat" in the Netherlands, and have found several that are reasonably nearby. I think it would be a great idea to go visit the homes of these breeders and have Rick play with the cats a bit, to see if in fact he will react to them before I seriously think of buying one.

However, Rick has informed me that even if he turns out not to be allergic, he still doesn't want a cat. What kind of a sick person doesn't like cats? I'm not worried, though-- Rick's mild disinclination to have pets is no match for my deep-seated need for them... I acquired Bert the Betta fish a few weeks ago, and just yesterday I bought Marcel's brother's old aquarium off him for $20. And that's not even taking into account all my herbs, aquatic plants, baby trees, pepper plants, and other green things taking up all the windowsill space in the house. Slowly but surely, the Slager household is turning into a zoo....
