Just got back from biking to the ATM and the grocery store in the rain. On the way there, some asshole kid on a brommer (something like a moped, I think) came roaring at me, purposely steered into a puddle, and splashed me from head to toe with dirty water before laughing and zooming off in a cloud of exhaust. I let out a string of expletives and shook my fist at him, but he was already long gone. You may ask what difference a bit of dirty water makes when I was already soaking wet, but it was more the principle of the thing. Stupid kids. Grrr.
After dealing with people elbowing each other out of the way at the grocery store to get to the scale to weigh their vegetables (I swear, have Dutch people never heard of waiting politely for your turn???) and being interrogated by the cashier about the contents of my wallet ("Are you sure you don't have 47 cents? You didn't even look! What about a Euro then? Do you at least have a Euro coin?"), I headed back home, sweating inside my stupid raincoat and trying to juggle three sacks of groceries and a six-pack of beer, as my saddlebags had filled up with water since I was too dumb to close them properly before heading inside.
Sometimes I really can't stand this country. *scowls*
