I'm going to be doing the Archaeology of Ancient America master's program, and will focus on the language and writing/iconography of the Mixtec peoples in Central Mexico. Awesome stuff. :)
The program is designed for English-speakers, but apparently some of the classes could be taught in Spanish, as well (they are, after all, mostly about Mexican archaeology). And if I pass the NT2 exam, then I'll be allowed to take classes in Dutch, too. :)
I'm sooooo excited! The other cool thing is that my old professor from UT, Dr. Grube (who is the absolute top in this field, hands down), is now teaching in Bonn. A much more prestigious position, hehe. But anyway, Leiden and Bonn apparently have a sort of official connection, whereby students from Leiden are allowed to take classes at Bonn without having to enroll there, and vice versa. So if I am seized by the desire to go study with Dr. Grube in Germany, then there's always that option, too. Maybe for my PhD...
Anyway, I'm just really happy because things are, as you said, finally falling into place. I just can't believe that all this is real...
