Going back to uni has brought to my recall a frustrating encounter I had in my sociology class.
Other Student: It's so unfair that Aboriginal people get more health care than us, everyone should get the same amount. Just because their health is worse doesn't mean they should get more money.
Me: If there was a baby born with a heart defect, should they get more health care to treat that heart defect?
OS: Of course, people should get the care they need.
Me: So, Aboriginal people should get the health care they need...
OS: No, that's not fair, they shouldn't get more than us.
They passed the class and as far as I know are working as a registered nurse somewhere in Perth.
