Tuning out the world...
It seems most people are having a cruddy day. Not that we're all terribly miserable, but that's there's something definitely wrong with the world. Note: This is not aimed at someone or a group of people in general. I'm just a little terrified.
Today's news:
another push to colonize mars. why? we're wrecking the planet we currently have. Forget trying to fix it. I wonder how long it will take to mess this one up?
A sharp contrast: Terri Schiavo and the Pope. Terri gets her food taken away from her, the Pope gets a tube inserted to eat. I mean crepes! Isn't allowing someone to starve against human rights legislation? I mean, it's a touchy subject to begin with. I wouldnt' be so severe if we were morphining someone to death out of pain... but come on! Even the animal activists would have someone's ass for starving an animal, publicizing it and watch it starve to death. Why the hell should it suprise me though! We allow women to starve themselves for beauty. I really wonder if the tables were turned and if Terri was a Terry if the same would have happend.
I'm sick of reading about rape, torture and war.
I'm sick of hearing about people fighting for minimal superfluous rights, when the basic human rights can't be respected!
I'm sick of seeing kids beat the shit out of one another so they can immitate the gangs they hear about.
I'm sick of parents being horrible parents.
I'm sick from the lack of compassion people have, the selfishness and the lack of motivation to help.
I'm sick of not knowing what to do to make any of it better.
