Super Speedy Update

Here in the grand land of Portland Oregon, the first snow has fallen and ice coats the roads.  This means, of course, that nearly half of my co-workers didn't show up for work this morning.  I worked three hours of over-time at the wonderful wage of $20.37  Ah, time and a half, how I love thee.  The Tax Man will take a good chunk of that money, but Christmas gifts don't buy themselves.

Speaking of Christmas gifts... I suck at shopping for other people.  I love buying things for my friends and family, but I never know what to get them.  The stress of finding them just the right gift causes me to need retail therapy and I come home with bags of stuff for me and no one else.  Example: My mom just had her whole kitchen redone and I wanted to get her some cool cooking gadgets to match it.  I couldn't pick!  What did she need?  Would light blue or colbolt look better?  Hand mixers or electric?  In the end, I fled Kitchen Kaboodle and ran to Gap where I bought dark grey trousers and a fedora.  Did I need the pants or hat?  No, but I did feel really good about finding the last few items I needed to complete my Detective Noir look.

Ernie is sitting in my lap as I type this.  He can't be trusted to be good on his own, so he's stuck playing the part of Lap Dog.  He keeps looking up at me with eyes that say, "Can I go yet?  I'll be good this time.  Really."  I'm so not buying it.  He's still not house broken, he's cost me over $1,000 in medical bills and he can't seem to learn simple comands like 'Sit.'  I don't know why I keep him.  He's just too damned cute, I guess.  Almost seven months old and (finally) a full set of crooked teeth (thank you, baby jesus, for ending the teething phase).  Oh, I forgot to mention... he bit the groomer with his fancy new teeth.  Sigh.  Oh well, I'll learn him some manners yet.

ernie, update
