i used to think....

that circuit city was the best because they keep all their warranty records in their computer so you don't have to keep track of anything. another side note before i start my story is that i always buy warranties on things because i'm prone to having accidents (no smart ass comments).

my phone went through the wash a couple of days ago. i actually wasn't too bummed. for some reason i wasn't worried at all that best buy would replace my phone. i couldn't find the warranty i had on it and hoped that they had them on file. unlike circuit city who always keeps their records no matter what method of payment you use, best buy only keeps records on transactions made with credit or check. fortunately, i had bought my phone last year with a credit card. i brought it over to the phone people and told them it was broke. he asked me if i had let a service tech look at it. i thought that my chances of getting a new phone were over because anyone could look at the phone and see that it had been in a large amount of water, which was not covered under my extended warranty. we brought it over to the tech, he asked what was wrong, i said it didn't turn on anymore, he said yep it's broke and the salesman needed to replace it. it doesn't get any sweeter than that... or does it? when i brought all the information, new phone, and old phone up to the register, the employee started doing her job. after a while she grabbed a gift card and ran it through the machine. i didn't think this was for me and thought maybe she had to do some money exchanging to get the balance right. after another minute she handed me my new phone and a gift card for $32. i questioned it but she insisted, then i took it. i later realized that my phone's price is 30 dollars cheaper now than it was when i bought it. so they compensated me the difference. so let's review.... i wash my phone, they give me a new one and $32.

and also, my anti-swelling medication they gave me after the surgery ends today. so i'll start feeling normal again by tomorrow.
