Badger's Sett Week 3 - McFusty

Aug 26, 2013 09:42

Oswald and June have finally moved into their new farm. Tons more space for twins Aileen and Alexis to toddle around in (and to plant crops and keep cattle, of course).

June and Oswald celebrate by Woohooing in every single room. ACR has decided they're at it like rabbits, and it's difficult to tear them away from eachother for long enough to get some farming and parenting done. What with June's Family aspiration, I wouldn't be too surprised if she got herself another bun in the oven soon.

Crops and toddlers alike need lots of care and attention, and luckily June and Oswald are up for the job. June's golden gardening badge is a Watchersend when it comes to taking care of the farm, and Oswald has turned (to his own surprise) into pretty great dad. He's grown up a lot since first coming to Badger's Sett, meeting June and becoming a parent. His old college-self wouldn't even recognise him anymore.

Bora and Ridders (as Ridley has been renamed by his new owners) reside in the doghouse next to the pumpkin and strawberry patch. They're allowed in the farmhouse, but Bora loves snoozing outside in the warmth of the autumn afternoon sun.

Aileen (in green) seems to be Bora and Ridders' favourite Sim. They're always fussing over her and giving her licks, and Aileen loves cuddling with her furry friends. She certainly has a way with animals, and follows them around the place, sometimes even eating their food!

As much as he might look like a Family sim in his new role as father, Oswald is still a Popularity sim at heart. So when the time came for his girls to have their birthday, a party had to be held! Attendees are Auntie Nora, Uncle Colin, Lexi and Adrian (Adrian because he's besties with June, Lexi because she's his partner), and Nikolai and Ella (because they're actually pretty friendly with the McFusty's.)

First one up is Alexis, who transitions into a pretty pink princess dress. Cute as a button! She definitely takes after Oswald; she's got his eyes and nose.

Aileen transitions in a matching green princess dress! This couldn't have been more perfect if I planned it :) It's a bit hard to tell here, but Aileen's features take more after June than Oswald.

Hugs and cake for everyone :)

Life goes on on the farm, and whether it's because the weather has been fantastic, June's gardening skills have come along magnificently, the soil is a lot better here or a combination of all three, the crops are thriving.

Oswald: "Straight out of the earth and right into Nikolai's pockets. Grumpfle."

The twins are a bit young to help out on the farm, so they get to stay in the farmhouse and fill their days as they please. June's worried about giving her children a proper education: it's not like Badger's Sett has a lot of schooling options.

Bora surprises everyone by giving birth to two puppies! I guess she and Ridders got on better than everyone was expecting...

Aileen and Alexis are more than happy to take care of the newest additions to the family. Aileen has adopted the female puppy and named her Lady, while Alexis has taken to the male one, which she's dubbed Snuffles.

The puppies won't be the newest additions to the family for very long, however, as June is pregnant again. The twins are excited: a new baby brother or sister! Aileen's wishing for another sister, but Alexis would like a little brother. Aileen doesn't like to play any rough games where she could get dirty, but maybe a brother will?

The topic of pregnancy sparked quite some debate between the twins.
Alexis: "Nooo, it's like when Bora and Ridders had puppies, they went into the doghouse and there was a lot of noise and then they came out and then Bora had the puppies!"

Aileen: "Do you think they were kissing? Eeeww!"

Alexis: "Dogs don't have lips, stupidhead."

Aileen: "Do too!"

Aileen: "Auntie Nora! What are you doing here?"

Nora: "Hey there little squirt. Your dad invited us over to share the happy news. I think I can foresee some more babysitting in the future."

Aileen: "Yay!"

Aileen: "Auntie Nora... you know everything. How did the baby end up in mommy's tummy? Did she swallow it?"

Nora: "Hahaha... I'm going to sit that one out and let your daddy have that particular talk with you. Let's just say swallowing was not involved in this particular case."

Meanwhile, June has taken advantage of the baby shower to ask Ella something she's been thinking of for a while now.

June: "And I don't think there's a more qualified sim in town. So what do you say, Ella? Would you like to teach our girls?"

Ella: "Would I?! I would LOVE to be a teacher! You know, I always liked the idea of passing on my knowledge. Even back at university I played with the idea of becoming a professor once I got my doctorate. I just know your twins will love some of the science experiments I could do with them!"

June: "Oh! Sure, sure. Maybe start them off with reading, writing, that sort of thing?"

Ella: "Leave it up to me, June. They'll be the brightest little minds in Badger's Sett!"

Nikolai: "Actually, while we're here, I have a little proposition for you as well, Oswald. I'm sure you noticed that my business is running very well - making money hand over fist, even."

Oswald: "Yeah, because of June and I's hard work! And Colin's! I was just saying to June the other day, it really isn't fair that..."

Nikolai: "Yes, yes, you do the actual hard work. That's why I think the profit should be yours as well."

Oswald: "Just not right to... what?"

Nikolai: "I said I agree. The produce is mostly yours (and Colin's), so I would like to propose you taking over the business. I've set it up, made it run a profit, but now I'd like you to have it."

Oswald: "Are you serious?! Nikolai, that's damn decent of you."

Nikolai: "I think I should stay on in a managing capacity, of course. I mean, I think I am right to assume you have no real experience with running a business, do you? Doing the books, pricing and demand, all the... fiddly bits."

Oswald: "Let me guess, for part of the profits."

Nikolai: "Well that goes without saying. Expertise like mine isn't free, you know. Still, you'd have a better deal than you do now. Wouldn't you like to be able to sell your crops for the price I'm asking over at the market? Even with a 10% cut, you'd be making more than you do now."

Oswald: "I guess that sounds fair."

Nikolai: "Let's shake on it, then!"

Oswald *looks at June*: "If you're happy with it, honey..?"

June: "It sounds like a good deal... The extra money wouldn't hurt what with having a little one on the way."

Oswald: "Alright Nikolai, shake on it."
