In a few revisions I think it could be very suitable as a cheap and rugged wireless "information appliance". That's assuming they're willing to look away from their "grand vision" tunnel vision and consider developing it as a US product, which I don't think they are. Someone else could pick up the platform and run with it, though.
As it stands I think it's suitable in three contexts:
-as a hobbyist's toy -as a collector's item -for a child (preferably in a classroom with other XO laptops)

its a little different, all pictures, no text to teach kids who don't know how to read that their buddys have shown up.
