None in my world, just the odd human doing depraved and/or horrific acts.

And you're putting them in connex with demons?

[That writing is more familiar]

...I don't know. It's all I can compare it with, but it's not much of a comparison, is it.

Is and isn't. Lurks feel different. A human's bad 'cus of who they are, lurk's bad 'cus of what they are.

Humans can choose what they wish to do. Demons can't?

[There's a distinct pause here. She thinks about Urkonn... about what he did, about him killing that poor girl. He did for his demon masters. When he was confronted about it, he said "we would have lost."

Not good enough.]

...Maybe they can, maybe they can't. Either way, evil by nature.

Nature then, with maybe a rare exception here or there?

[More like I was wishing for one.]

That comes back to souls, really.

I'm going to guess demons don't have them?

Also stupid question, but are vampires considered demons or are they a separate category?

[...] Way back when, demons and other pure evil things were on the Earth. Magic too. Then, when animals started poppin' up - and "mages" and "lora...-somethings" too - anyway. Demons left, going to other "dimensions" [It's clear from how she's saying it, she doesn't know what dimensions, mages, or whatever lora- was going to be are] where they felt more comfy. Few of 'em stayed though - some slept, some hid, some bred in with humans or animals 'pparently... and then some infected.

Just what I was told. He didn't know where they start either, but lurks are a plague. Demons infected humans - parasite like - and then they pop up. So yeah, demons. Weak ones, sorta hard to think of 'em being the same.

[Ginia begins taking notes as she listens, underlying keywords and phrases here and there.]

Dimension. Other worlds. Parallel universes. Alternates. I guess where we are now could be seen as another dimension. That's my understanding of the word.

But vampires. Lesser demons. Got it.

All right, so souls?

[So "dimensions" are other worlds? That makes sense. She nods]

Souls are what makes humans human. I dunno much 'bout 'em, but I fig it's what gives them the choice. Without it, lurks and demons in gen, I guess, are evil by nature.

That critical difference between humans and demons.

What would happen if someone lost their soul?

Then they go bad.

[She says this with absolute certainty, contrary to much else in this conversation. She's seen it.

My Harth, the murderer. My Harth, the mastermind.

There's a pause and...]

When a vampire sires a new one, that's what they do - the human loses the soul when they become a lurk.

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Thank you.
