Well first there are chimeras. Not necessarily bad, but strange? Basically they're people combined with animals through alchemy.

No, no. Alchemy is a science that breaks down things and puts them back together differently. It's more complicated than that, but there's the simple idea.

Maybe? I'm not really clear on that. You'd have to ask Ed, Al, or Mr. Mustang more about that. Anyway, due to scientific experiments with Alchemy chimeras have been made. They're still people, but not bad or something to worry about too much.
