Hallo, Slayer. [Wow. Just when Jack thought that behavior could not get weirder.]

You're not doin' it properly, you know. You need a sail to be a pirate. Otherwise you're just a bloody Viking, and that never did anyone any good.

[Pause in a rowing and- well then]

Then my first venture'll be getting one of those.

[Sue her, she doesn't know what a sail is]

Why am I not convinced that you will succeed in that venture? Where are you off to, anyway?

[Sail or no, Jack is impressed with how Slayer strength can be directed toward rowing. He'll have to remember that.]

Bitta everywhere. Fame and fortune, you know.

Oh, I know. Believe me. At least the fame, if not always the fortune. Are you lookin' to hire on any hands?

Would but- not sure I got the fortune to pay 'em yet.

What if you plied 'em with expectations and rum? They might work for free, like, expecting big rewards in the end.

That to say you'd work for that, Captain? I like advances.

I think "work" is far too strong a word for what I'd be willing to do for you, but, aye---that's the general idea.

Deal, let's grab that sail.

[And she steers - with the oar - to head towards the item shop. Yes, do doubt she can find one there]

[And for the second time she gets this look, but Jack follows along gamely.]

It shall have to be a mighty big sail to carry this vessel, methinks.

Yeah, have to be. This girl's pretty robust.

I'm thinking a large tablecloth will probably do it. And a broomstick.

Reply

neoslaying October 10 2011, 17:42:20 UTC
Dunno, would the tablecloth keep 'er steady?

Reply

lists_to_port October 10 2011, 18:02:32 UTC
Steady enough, I'll wager. [For a wagon being steered by a completely delusional girl, that is.] Wait here; I'll fetch you the supplies.

[It wouldn't take long to dash into the shop and locate a tablecloth and a broomstick and possibly LOTS of duct tape.]

[But-! She wanted to adventure too :C Oh well, crew is supposed to do stuff for the captain, right? It only is fitting, putting it like that!]
