Another day at the office for a change.
So I'm back to work from weeks away healing and months on crew. It's been interesting being back on the Budgeting crew; a welcome relief and gradual return to the work schedule. Working with engineers again is welcome but only highlights the differences in what I really enjoy at work.
I have found some neat things in dealing with the guys on crew. I have gained a great respect for the men and women that run this plant on rotating crew. I will be returning to work alongside them until, as best I can approximate, January. Then I will return to straight days to finish up my Engineer-In-Training program.
I have been interested in getting a new car for a while. My truck serves me well but long trips with no need to haul cargo eat up large amounts of fuel. Also, with a used manual transmission car, I could not only learn a manual on something that isn’t a sports car but also put miles on something else for my short daily drives to the parking lot while saving my truck for the times I really need it. Perhaps I am attached to my first new vehicle, but Mr. Smith means a lot to me.
Concerning Mr. Smith, I will be paying the truck off by the end of the year. I have grown tired of the payments along with paying for the interest on the loan. I paid off my 4-wheeler in January and plan to be out of debt for 2011. With my newfound financial freedom a new car or perhaps a motorcycle is a possibility. However, the motorcycle will be something that next weekend will be a telling blow for. I am taking a motorcycle safety course to see if it is something I want to pursue. Should I find it not to my liking then the car is my next move; though I will make sure that I have some adequate amount of capital saved up before the car is purchased.
It’s early here and the coffee is making me wake up bit by bit. Working in my boss’s office for the last two weeks is a nice change from the all too familiar walls of my apartment. I am welcome to not only the difference in setting, but the distance from being able to spend money frequently during the week and the full paychecks once again.
Back to work for me. The boss has called and more work awaits.
