Road Trip Redux
For as much as had it built up in my mind as a day of epic proportions (which is, granted, and entirely unrealistic expectation given my experiences with long drives) the trip was surprisingly uneventful on most fronts. Honestly I'm not complaining. Most of the best stories I have involve something going terrible wrong and I'm just as happy not having another to add to the collection.
Woke up at 3:30, pulled into Madison by 9:30 or so after a brief stopover at Culvers in Lincoln, Nebraska. Had a few drinks and it was off to the airport. My mother sadly called in sick to that portion of the trip but her place was taken by my other parent so I guess it all evens out. Made it home by 7-8 am and started unloading my car, rough stuff.
Tomorrow I leave for Kentucky.
Just can't stay in one place.
