This is your fair warning. Herein lies a huge rant AND interesting information regarding PPT. If you wish to NOT read, or chose to disagree with my thoughts, use the nifty little X button conveniently located at the top right part of your window.
Also, for the record - I neither believe nor disbelieve anything anyone else has said about PPT that I haven't experienced myself. I personally refuse to use PPT as I find the site WAY too biased and anti Neostaff and extremely distasteful in their choice of wording and articles dealing with Neopets staff. Not to mention I prefer to use only sites that have signed the fan agreement with Neopets. Personally? I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Let me start out at the beginning, ne?
A player on Neopets states that PPT has a cookie grabber. She made a chat board in the battledome chat speaking of this. I didn't read it much, as I don't use PPT and don't care. However, I come back the next morning to find the board is STILL going, with well over 800 replies. Why on earth...?
Aaah. I see. People on the PPT forums have posted their own thread about the board on Neopets, and a few PPTers have decided to post in neo. Flame war ensues on the Neo chats. Players get warned. Players get frozen. Joy, joy.
Then another board pops up, created by a self proclaimed staff member/mod of PPT.

Now, I don't feel there is a need to go into all the flaming that BOTH sides, self included, have done the past few days. Suffice to say it has been ugly. (However, I DO want to mention that the girl who created the first board was talked about on PPT in a way that included death wishes on her. The board was locked and then removed, yes, but a DAY later. Everything else aside, there lies yet another reason I chalk up to my dislike of PPT.
But today, it was made personal. THIS is why I rant.

It has come to my attention that rumors have been circulating that PPT is a site which is using 'Cookie Grabbers' to hack into user accounts. Right off that bat, I state that any such claim is entirely false, rediculous and without merit.
Secondly, the reason behind this post is about another website. A few months previously, my good friends over at Nothing But Neopets informed me of another website, who's webmistriss and staff created blogs belitting me, calling me names, calling the entire PPT community immature brats among other various things. Now, it has also come to my attention that this website in question is still doing such things.
It saddens me that such a person / website can harbour such hatred and malice in their hearts for a website which was created to help other people. It is further saddens me, that such people can 'backstab' and 'attack' another person, website and a community without any reasoning at all - choosing to twist words, choosing to take what is said on the chat boards as offical PPT statements, choosing to encourage rumors that decredit PPT and choosing to hate something which I created for all the right reasons. These attacks on me, my friends, family, staff and visitors is not warranted and unfair and I am deeply shocked and upset at what has come to light as of late. Heather, I speak to you, someone who I once respected from a distance. I have never spoken to you, nor do I now wish to - for all your spite, anger and lies which you have exerted towards PPT, who has never raised a word against you. Even now I have asked that my staff do not involve themselves in such a dispute, and if you have any common decency left in you, I advise that you do not treat others in the future as you have treated me.

I imagine I could wait forever and a single day and never see anything to back that claim up. My best guess is 'Yukio' is confused, and considered jemmie the webmistress of soup-faerie.com. She did like to flame with people. That I will allow as an understandable mistake, as she did tend to treat the site as though it was hers. However, when one makes a defaming statement, one needs to check ones sources. Jem isn't and ever was the owner of s-f.com, nor did Hippie ever bash PPT on her site any ANY shape, way or form.

What lies? PPT has spyware, you know this to be true. What anger? She's never said anywhere that she is angry. Quite the opposite, actually, as you are the one going out of your way to deflame another person.

So I call theplanet.com, who does inform me that pinkpt.com IS hosted on their server space. They were also VERY adament about the fact that they do NOT place ads on ANY site they host. Not on the site ads, not popup ads I spoke with a sales rep, two techs, and a manager. None of them were very happy to hear ppt has been saying they place ads.
So what does that mean? Ooooh, could it be? PPT is LYING AND breaking Neopets T&C? ooooh, yes darlings. That's exactly what it means. I am sure Neo is going to love to hear about this. =)

Based on the thread here, I decided to give PPT a try and check for spyware.
I scanned and cleared cookies and temp files. THIS is the result of the first scan. Typical, I as scan every night. =)
Ok, no spyware on my system. Keeping NOTHING open other than IE and my AV software *snicker* I head over to pinkpt.com

Many people have asked me what THEY can do in regards to PPT. This is a copy and paste of the comment I left in regards to that question.
Actually? I hadn't thought of this before, but now that you mention it... *grin*
If people/neopet players feel such and WANT to, it would be a wonderful idea to have them e-mail the neopets legal team in regards to PPT. NOT to start flamewars or say 'stupid' stuff, but to actually express their concerns.
IF they are concerned with the following-
- PPT has ads on their site, thus breaking Neo's terms.
- Some of the said ads themselves break other Neo rules, such as the ad speaking of Breast Cancer and the ad for matchmaking. Neither of those are subjects you can talk of on Neopets.
- The severe amount of spyware on PPT and potential for trojans. (NOTE: this is not to start trouble, however, MANY popups used by sites DO contain trojans, worms and other nasty things. This isn't to say the sites do this on purpose, however, the potential IS there. On a Neo fan site, this should NOT even be an issue.)
- The fact that many, many fansites make do with following Neo's terms, even out of their own pocket and yet PPT has been allowed to break Neo's terms.
