(no subject)
It's a good thing that I have a mild headache and that it's obvious that I haven't had enough sleep. Although what I did have was the deep sleep of the exhausted.
I'm not sure how many people came through last night, but I will say this, all of those people put bills in the donations jars. And they seemed happy to do it. It was one of those night where you look around and you know for certain you have no idea what other people are seeing and experiencing when they're in your space. I mean, the place looked great, and so there was excitement tumbling around the place. New arrangements, new paintings up, new lighting...new stuff. And the food table was, by far the most amazing one we've done. There was playing and reading and even some stand up. Yeah. So we gathered enough bills to even cut into what will be owing on March's rent in a day. I think it might be enough to appease the landlord, who to his credit, has remained silent this entire rent-unpaid time.
I'll post some pics later today. For now though I'm a little blitzed because I haven't eaten yet and it's late in the morning for me.
All in all though, it was a raging success and I'm so....encouraged by it all. The work that people put in getting ready for the show and the people who showed up and the kind of environment they made while they were there.
