I love my days off

Recently I've been a bit quiet on the LJ front.  That's not because I hate writing, I love to write, but work just taxes me a bit and I tend to shut off my brain on the few days I don't have to commute 30 minutes (or more, on bad days) to my tech support job.

Luckily for me, I have a few hours free, and my mind is a bit less mushy then normal.  Plus, the dachshund has decided she doesn't absolutely need to sit on my lap, which leaves some room for my computer.

Work has been going well, but it can be frustrating at times, as any job can be.  Recently, I've taken opportunity of the slowness of rush hour traffic to stay in touch with friends and family over the phone.  Ingenious one, me.  I know they appreciate it, but there are times when I just need to work off a bit of steam and scream at other drivers, instead.  This has been happening more and more frequently of late, perhaps its a sign that I need a vacation.

The weather, thankfully, has gotten a bit warmer, which means more time outside for both myself and Lieka which means far less neuroses for all involved.  I think I'll take a walk with her today, despite the somewhat grey sky.

Nicole and I both have been making an effort to spend more time togther.  This means we've been taking turns planning dates, my first contribution was a meal at Benihana, hers a performance at the symphony.  I have a feeling we may go to the art institute soon, maybe next week.

This weekend may be another busy one.  A few of us are planning on going to a Pimps show on Friday, and, of course, Saturday is Valentine's Day.  I have no idea what the plans are for that.

Hopefully, I'll be able to keep posting here, and make some time to post over at EC, too.  I've been really lazy when it comes to updating there.

I have big plans for NBC, starting with the fact that I have secured a party room, and am planning on running activities both Friday and Saturday night.  I'm also giving two Exploding Chimp themed panels: Exploding Chimp Presents: How to Contact Your Space Brothers, and Exploding Chimp Will Kill You.  I should have enough material for both by the time the con rolls around.  By the way, we're still looking for submissions, if any one of you has gaming or geekery related articles or videos, let me know.
