Over the past few years, feminism really has split into two groups: the old school feminists from the '60's who want to blindly punish men, and the new school feminists who want both more rights for women and more rights for men.
That second part is more tricky, because the institutional things that are in place against men are much more subtle in our society. The anti-men things are much more set in stone, however, through restrictive societal expectations of men. If you look at it, women have a much wider societally acceptable range of identities than men. It's cool and acceptable for a woman to be a stay-at-home mom, but stay-at-home dads are frowned upon. If a man makes less money than his wife, that's not cool.
You really want to see this shit in action? People call out beer commercials for sexism all the time. But go sit down and watch the latest set of ads that have come out for Milwaukee's Best. These men get "punished" by being cartoonishly slammed by giant Milwaukee's Best cans for doing something "unmanly."
Any time I hear a woman say something like "That's just like a man," or anything else perpetuating the "dumb brute" stereotype, it pisses me off just as bad as any sexist joke against women.
