WHAT THE FLYING FUCK?!

I am going on a rant! A school rant at that.

I am pissed off. I am fuming off steam like an effing steamboat going at 1000 mph down the freakin’ Mississippi.
Quick background info: Before my biochemistry course I decided to take an interesting human ecology course just for the fun of it. It was a really nice course and based on the my superior knowledge in many of the subjects during discussions in class, I was confident that I would get a pretty OK grade. Our grade was based on five essays (minimum 1000 words each) that we wrote over the course of a week, and I left feeling good about it. Turns out my teacher didn’t think quite the same and failed me.

Well, fuck me.

Here is the thing: Writing essays is one of my strongest academic fortés. All through life, I have gotten nothing but high praise for the essays I write (apart from in Swedish where it has been so-so, but then I have hardly ever written any essays in Swedish). I write with a clear thread and always to-the-point, my language is proper for the given genre and always varied, I do not repeat myself or start sentences with “and” or “but”, I never plagiarize, I always site my sources…
I just don’t know how I could write something that gave such a horrific and utterly unsuspected turn to the bad. It hit my confidence like a bullet to the heart.
Of course I sent my teacher an email asking him what the flying fuck was wrong with my essays and if he could please explain his thought process (because I, for one, did not get the logic behind it). However, I have little intention of writing the exam again; I just can’t be bothered to write five more essays in a subject that will not even matter in my route of education. Molecular biologists don’t have much to do in the field of human ecology; if anything, we are tipping the scale to being disliked by them.
I guess I couldn't go on an essay winning streak all my life. It just makes me really sad that I wrote something that my teacher disliked so much :(.

Rant over!

shitville, the world hates me, university
