I forgot to write about this...
Four days ago, I found an ant crawling in my laptop...followed by another ant...and another. But I wasn't really alarmed. I was just quite angry. Honestly, it never occurred to me that those ants might have been brought by the fact that I sometimes eat in front of my laptop. I just vacuumed them off the face of the earth, or in this case, off the face of my laptop. Does my laptop even have a face? Anyway, the important thing was that tiny USB vacuum that I forced my mom to buy finally served its purpose.
And then, two days ago, I discovered that the ants finally invaded the INSIDE of my laptop. I panicked. BECAUSE THEY WERE COMING OUT OF THE USB PORTS! I turned on my laptop and I almost cried when my mouse pad wouldn't work. I know I always complained about how unbelievably outdated my laptop is, but I still love it to bits. (Plus the warranty expired last July so I won't get it fixed for free anymore)
Well, I forced my dad to do something about it. I know it wasn't the smartest idea, but I was desperate. Who knew what those ants were doing inside my laptop? They might have been building colonies! After we got all the screws loose, the laptop still wouldn't pry open so my dad gave up. He screwed it again, left me and ate breakfast.
He told me to take it to the shop and said that's what I got for eating in front of my laptop. But since I didn't have the funds to have it cleaned by a 'professional', I just didn't turn on my USB fan and left the ants to get fried inside. After a few hours, I pronounced my laptop ant-free.
Well, I just noticed that my dad turned one of the screws pretty hard. Now it looks like my laptop has a zit. It almost poked though. ARGH.
Anyway, my mouse pad wasn't really broken. For some reason, it got disabled. Hah. Silly me.
EDIT: Not my mousepad but the -touch- pad. Super silly me. :D
