i thought i'll do post because i can't be bothered to repeat it again to several people, when responding to the question 'What have you been up to?'
So it will be easier for me to write about my September and just link friends this.
September - consist of meeting up with all sorts; old friends, Hackney neighbours and strangers
- went to baff's last house party as all his flatmates were moving back home after graduation which ended up as a disaster to get home.
Kamillah was dancing next to the kitchen when she attracted some mob youths, who then wanted to come into the party. but we didn’t let them, so they kept harassing everyone by trying to get through the windows and doors to get in. till eventually baff called the police.
kamillah and I didn’t have enough cash for both of us to get home. since kam lived in Highgate, we opted to get dropped at highbury and islington, which took over an hour to get home from because there were no night buses.
I bumped into kam who I haven’t seen for aaaages, Nelson and met other people who I cant remember their names.
- met up with Imogen in covent garden and accidentally went on a massive spending spree on clothes I didn't really need and cyber candy
- lunch with robin and kamillah, and we dragged robin to levis. i think we spent a good semester at uni, telling him his TKMax jeans were horrendous.
so i think he hated me for for a while for those purposes.
its so funny, how kamillah and i just kept throwing jeans at robin to try out, whilst the shop assistant in there thought we were both being 'rude' to our male friend.
last week was abit of a strange week because last saturday I went to Devon and the friend i was suppose to go with, ended up not showing up due to hangover reasons. which meant i hoped on this coach on my own whch was like some epic r 4 hour drive and another 4 hours back!! i also had paid for her £80 ticket which meant i'm rather broke now.
baring in mind she and her friends still own me money for buying them flight tickets to rome from last year.
now if she had apologises then I would probably let it go, but she hasn't accepted full responsiblity, so ive deleted her off my phone.
not only that, she said she had a pregnancy scared and asked me to go with her to the sti clinic, so i turned up to find she just wanted me to go around with her in london looking for jobs?!
THANKS ALOT.
if you was on drugs and needed a head check, then i would be more accepting.
the next day, I had tickets to Paramore gig at Islington academy but my mate pulled out as he was working out late at the Design Centre in angel for some exhibition, so I ended up going with this Hackney girl, who happens to go to this secondary school which is down the road from me.
next morning, I got an email from Oxfam saying im suppose to be stewarding at Bestival.
at first I thought it was a mistake, but after checking my history, its turns out I accidentally clicked on bestival on my application form and I didn’t even acknowledged it!
I didn’t have any camping gear, because previous trips to camping were done with other people, so I never had my own tent and stuff.
luckily I managed to borrow a camping bag and stuff from jacky - who is a life saver.
I also got a lift from a guy who lives in Hackney in his caravan which later broke down , which meant we only had 20 minutes to get to the ferry port before the ship was leaving.
after a mad rush, we go on the ferry on time.
despite having been giving a tent by jacky, I couldn’t take it because it was too heavy for me to carry. so I ended borrowing one from this guy called Dean, who had a spare in his car. another girl called Kat didn’t have one either, because she couldn’t carry one as it was too heavy for her to do so.
so we both shared a tent together!
I know it sounds mad, sharing with a stranger but it felt pretty normal.
the next day, my first shift didn’t exisit because it wasn’t open yet, so I was placed at the entrance called Y2. the guy I was with, whilst on the job for only after 40 minutes, was on the verge of passing out , so I had to take him to first aid.
I bumped into Lauren, a girl who I met and worked with at Wakestock last month. As I was talking to her a wasp flew on me and then proceeded to sting me.
having never been stung in my either life, I screamed!
it got tannoed over to the ox box where EVERYONE hear ‘steward stung by a wasp, can she go to first aid?’
which meant I sounded like an utter wuss.
I later got insults, especially from this guy called Adam, who said I just seem like an complete ‘city girl’ - a comment often mentioned when I was previously living in Norfolk and Sheffield.
the second day was spent with Kat (the girl I was sharing the tent with) and i met her friends’ friends who happened to be friends of James Winney, a friend from my class. so its like everyone I kept meeting was connected in some way to me.
the last day was spent sitting in some field with a random guy from oxford, who passed out to sleep at 5am in the morning on a chair - as we had to guard one of the exisit gates. which was possibly the longest and cold nights I have ever endured.
that morning I decided to head back home because I knew if I went on Monday, it would be chaos. but I hadn’t realised the amount of stuff I was carrying didn’t want to shift up hill. I ended up binned half my bags there, including my wellies.
I was on 02 and couldn’t ring anyone, after repeatly dialing several numbers and left a panick message to Rachel, telling her to ring my sister for help. WHICH WAS COMPLETELY USELESS, as my sister was still in Greece!
when I finally found the exist, I decided to sit on the floor whilst waiting for the bus. I completely zoned out up until I noticed a girl infront of me, who looked really familiar. then I realised it was Lauren Hamilton (girl I used to hang out with a lot during my my last year of sixth form and first gap year, but haven’t seen for a good two years due to going uni etc). we got the same ferry back but parted ways in portsmouth. I didn’t feel like arriving to waterloo by train,
i've done so many road trips around england this week and i'm am so exhausted.
although i just got a message from imogen, whos in spain right now on her year out. Im tempted to escape london because right now its torrential down pour in the City. bluergh.
went into uni monday and will be in today. the architecture and interactive media diploma students have completely taken over the studio for their presentation, which looks amazing!
I then met paul who I haven’t seen since the time he was in highbury before he left for Manchester.
I saw his UCL freshers pack and it seems somewhat limited, I don’t think London unis put on that many freshers events, compared to unis outside of London. I recall Sheffield had events throughout the day everyday for a week.
I still have my camping bag on my bedroom floor and i cant be bothered to unpacked. I tink I saw a gaint spider ran across my bedroom floor. aaaaaaaaah
so after all the trip, i feel slightly less social inadequate!
oh and other random news, I’m trying to follow Simon Bird (the guy off Betweeners). so I'll be doing Chortle Student Comedy 2010. they have roughly 10 heats up and down the country and I should be one at one of them.
okay, that’s enough of an update of my last two weeks.
adios x
