22 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME (Partie Un et Un Quart!)
1. In the past year my iPod has been stolen, and my hard drive died, wiping out any and all music I had. You know what? I don't care. I used to be one of those music addicts who needed a song for every moment of their life, but it's so much nicer without. I pay more attention to little details. I still listen to music, but it has become unimportant for me to download everything and have my mp3 player by my side 24/7.
2. In 2007, my horoscope said I was going to find love this year. For the longest time, I believed it. But now, looking back, it was more a love for myself. Slightly narcissistic yes, but I finally love myself the way I am. I love that I'm weird, think differently, say rude things, have some enemies and got a little chub. At the end of the day, I'm always the best Nellie I can be, even if no one else agrees.
3. I'm really excited to go back home. Yeah, it'll be close quarters being that Amy is still living at home, but we'll make do. It could be worse. I'm excited to be going to a bigger school, and I love knowing that Social Work is the right path for me. It's not going to be easy, but at least I know what I want from life, and what to expect from it.
4. I always attract girlie men who haven't graduated from high school. I don't understand why, and I want to figure out how to stop that. Really, how hard is it to graduate from high school? One guy I hung out with, couldn't graduate because he failed health class for Christ's sake. Is that even possible? You sit there, let the teacher lecture about stuff and leave. Easy peasy! Another guy I met was like "Oh I quit because school was just teaching me how to be a worker drone, and I don't want to be one." Uhm, fine, but high school teaches you shit outside of the classroom, like how social dynmics work, and how to be the huge geek who rises up and turns out to be the coolest person ever (dur, look at me). Also, no one actually does the work. We all try to figure out ways to do the least amount of work possible, while still getting the highest grade. That's what I did at least, and I did fine. I think people who drop out of high school are just lazy, because it's not that hard, and they're just not creative enough to get through it.
5. I had my first salad ever this month, and I actually ate the whole thing. I don't like lettuce, but cucumbers, celery and green peppers are yummers.
6. I've had a huge crush on a guy for months now (not girlie and graduated high school!!) that simply will not go away. I've had crushes before that usually go away with time, making out, or force, but this one is resilient. How in heaven's name can I get rid of it? I'm worried that if I should ever see him again that I'll have all this expectation built up and then just be disappointed. That's not fair though! Just cause I'm crazy and can't let go, doesn't mean it should ruin a friendship. God, why am I such a whackjob?
7. I really am a putz with boys, and maybe I should just give up altogether.
8. I am not a lesbian, or bisexual. I tired and it's just not my thing.
9. Lately, I've been trying before knocking, and have been thoroughly enjoying myself.
10. I love being high. It's a great feeling. Some of my most recent highs are: fixing my own harddrive, bike riding on the road for the first time, getting a 92 on a European History exam, Krissy making a tag for me, and getting a drawing from one of the troubled girls I work with. Text messaging always gets me high.
11. That isn't to say I don't love being stoned, and I have no problem admitting it (I haven't discussed it with my parents openly, but I think they prefer being in the dark).
12. Despite what this year may have seemed, partying a lot, drinking, smoking, having sex, etc, my favorite pastimes still are cuddling and reading a good book. Those are things that just can't compare with the trivialities of going out.
13. I love Jewish people.
14. I'm getting along with my dad nowadays, mostly because I've gotten over the need to piss him off for shits. I think he appreciates the effort.
15. My hair is green in the back. I absolutely adore it.
16. I really like saying that I have a conch piercing because it sounds dirty, when really it's not (It's in the ear).
17. Seeing pictures of buses and trains makes me homesick and teary eyed. I don't know why because public transportation is the thing I miss least about home.
18. MySpace is more useful for me to keep in touch with bands than friends.
19. I imagine that if my life were made into a movie, that
Oh No! Oh My! would compose the soundtrack for me.
20. I still haven't settled on a tattoo design, but that's ok. I would rather take my time picking it out. I'm pretty set on having a design with a bird and stars swirling around it.
21. My favorite animals are: elephants, polar bears, wolves, and sea otters.
22. I was aiming to do 100 Random Facts about me, but I already did that once and nothing has changed much since then (I have changed a lot since then, but my past hasn't and that post tended to focus on past things).
