My feet don't look too good in sandals-battered and calloused and their weird triangular shape becomes pretty obvious. But summer is coming and summer is a bad time for crazy chunky goth boots of any kind. Which is sad. Sandals can't be much else other than prissy or hippy and I'm reluctantly opting for the latter. The mad knitted hat I'm currently sporting doesn't really argue well for my self declared state of semi retired goth either. It's a hallucinogenic horror from hippy hell is what it is and you know what? Don't care. I'll wear it with my sandals for a radical hot brain/cold feet look too wild for anyone but me.
So, am I still goth? I'm wearing the remnants of a pink medieval gown and frilled bloomers. But the last cd I listened to was a compilation called The Art of Darkness, and I'm halfway through a 900 page book on the Manson Family. I don't roll much with all black these days but that's not really what goth was all about for me except for my rather insecure youth when I felt compelled to bang people over the head with how "different" I was. Goth is an aesthetic and an outlook, it is not a 220 dollar pvc bustle skirt. I think I'm still pretty safely in the goth ball park, which is indoors of course, and features no sport.
