Christmas Time!

Dec 25, 2008 19:04

And now here we are at the end of Christmas, though the day was initially good, there were a few bumps here and there that I'll list.

For now though, here's the haul - Note, the people in the brackets are who they're from.

Laptop (Aunt, Terry, Grandparents)
Digital Camera (Sister, her boyfriend, Uncle)
3 pairs of Socks (Grandparents)
Body Care Gels (Grandparents)
Ministry of Sound perfume - Nightlife and Nightlife CD (Aunt and Terry)
3 pairs of Boxer Shorts (Grandparents)
One t-shirt (My mother, father and younger brother) - Guess which present was a clear shot at me.

Either way, this is what I got everyone - The brackets are who they were for.

Pair of shoes and crystals to line the bathroom (Aunt)
Drill Kit (Terry)
Computer Building Kit (Grandfather)
Whind chimes, center piece and Angel Figurine (Grandmother)
iPod Touch (Sister's boyfriend) - This was a joint present to him from all of us.
Beyonce Frame and picture with her autograph, Candles and earrings (Sister)

Now to list how my Christmas went:

Overall it was a good day, honestly I'm so stuffed and can't eat anymore, though there were two bumps in the road. The first was the gift from my parents, which led my grandmother to pressure me to call her and thank her for it. My sister, well really she's my cousin, got a designer handbag from my parents, which she rang and thanked her for. And as it happened, I was pressured by my grandmother especially to speak to my mother on the phone. As you can probably tell, I wasn't pleased in the slightest, though it was civil, I still don't understand why they wish to pretend everything is perfectly okay when it isn't.

Needless to say, my mother is fine, still on drugs, and is apparently proud of me since I'm making more of myself than anyone spawned on that side of the family. So much for being 'the dropkick child'.

The second bump was that Terry, my aunt's boyfriend who lives with us, wrote himself off for Christmas. He was fine during the day but by the night, which is less than half an hour ago, he was completely drunk. Something you just don't do at a family dinner, and especially not in front of my grandparents. Either way whilst making a fool of himself, he also insulted them with various things he did, so thank jesus my aunt is doing damage control now.

Don't take this post as me being unappreciative in any way, because truly, I am. I'm so grateful for the family I have, and for Christmas as a family. I'm especially grateful at the gifts I received, though disappointed because I didn't have the money to buy them more expensive things. Either way, I'm just a bit annoyed, to me, Christmas is a special time, and it was a great day... Just, there's a reason me and my parents and younger brother don't have contact with one another. The simple fact is that I don't need people like them trying to bring me down, and I'd like to think I've moved past all that.

Terry getting drunk is self explanatory, I bet anyone reading this $100 that my grandmother hates him even more now, XD.

Though it is Christmas, and I am bouncing back. It was an awesome day, and I hope to upload photos soon! Thank christ there's only a day and a bit until I'm on holidays, I really, really need a break.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years, everyone! I'll be on tomorrow, but that will be Christmas for all of you... If I don't see you, or make another post. I wish you all the best for the New Years, and I'll see you in a week!
