Progress made, but not sure I'll make the deadline!

Update on my progress

I managed to get started on my final piece before Christmas, and thank goodness I did! I have started to get that slightly anxious feeling that I don't quite have enough time to get it finished and photographed in time for February 6th.

Here are a few pictures of my progress so far. The bulk of the construction is done but I know how long the finish can take (argh! Don't panic!!)

The main change I have made is to scrap the front gores (just too many wrinkles at the tip of the gore, tried making longer slit but still not a great position for the gore. I think that a side gore would work better, there is just so much pressure in the front panel to keep the shape of the corset.) To compensate the rear gore is a little wider. Style has won over comfort.

So left to do;

Rear facing and boning channels for the lacing (plus insert eyelets)
Front facing and insert busk (and I need to try to remember the waist tape first time!)
The one and only boning channel for each side
Binding

Breathe H, you can do it.

(I think)

(I hope)
