Another time lapse video from Frolic!
Also recorded the audio sets this month! And keeping with the live vibe, we had a microphone plugged in all night, which we never got around to using, but with the gain at about 10% you can occasionally hear people go "wooooo" on the dance floor (but not enough gain for any distortion or feedback). It's really subtle and chances are you won't even hear it unless you know what you're listening for.
Anyways, the sets came out great.
AudioDile, doing a 2 hour set. Great stuff, house, dance, pop. Very great smooth transitions from a great laptop dj!
NeonBunny, 1 3/4 hour set. Was only supposed to be 1.5 hours. Man, JC had me nervous by showing up at the club 5 minutes after his set time. Was starting to break out some tracks a couple months old towards the end. Mostly house music, starting a little on the hard heavy and gritty side, moving into some funky house in the middle, including a remix of the new Human League which just came out today, and then going into some progressive trance. New methods for the bunny, I have vowed to rely more heavily going forward on the crossfader, which means more slamming back and forth between tracks rather than smooth even transitions.
JC the DJ, 1 1/4 hour set. Our guest dj this month. He has a regular show on KZSU (Standford Radio 90.1) every Thursday night from 12am-3am, specializing in the best and newest dance music. Show has been running for over 10 years. He's also a regular in the SF club and party scene, so there's plenty of chances to check him out if you liked his stuff. For us, he broke out his funky and deep house. Very fun stuff!
