I spent a lot of my weekend packing up my belongings to be shipped to Ireland. They need to be all packed and out the door by Tuesday... so weird. My friends are coming to pick up my couch, bed, dresser table, etc. this weekend to take to their respective homes. I've rented my storage unit and have the movers schedule for the 22nd to come pick up the rest of my stuff and haul it over there. Suitcases are purchased and in the process of being packed.
I've purchased all my travel arrangements. I've decided to not be cheap this time around and drop some cash on a bedroom for the train ride. A room costs 3-5 times MORE than just the ticket fare alone. Luckily I seemed to book at the right moment and got away with a fairly reasonable price.
Queen Mary 2 tickets, check. Transfer to London once we reach Southampton, check. Hotel in London for 2 nights, check. Train tickets to Holyhead, check. Ferry tickets from Holyhead to Dublin, check. Once we get to Ireland, who the hell knows?
Still don't know where my temporary living accommodations will be, but I think I'm going to request city center so I can do a little site seeing my first month. I have no idea how I'm going to get to work, but Jade promised she's come with me so at least I'll have someone to get lost with.
I've known for a while I was leaving, but the closer the date comes the more you realize how REAL everything is. I'm nervous. Excited. Stressed. Worried. Just not sure how to handle the new work environment I'm about to be thrown into... or how to deal with all the new employees I have hired. On the happy side of life... we get 22 vacation days plus 9 holidays as an Irish employee and I'm really going to make my best effort to take advantage of them.
