SFX Blue Velvet

It's quite dark at first, but it's perfect if you don't want to dye your hair often but you want blue.

This one's REALLY dark at first, almost black, but after a couple washes it starts to lighten up and a brighter blue comes through. It gets brighter and more beautiful until it eventually turns purple, throughout the span of two months. What happens after that, I don't know yet, but when I do I'll post pictures.

My hair is 3 colours (top: SFX Atomic Pink, middle: Blue Velvet, and bottom: Fishbowl mixed with Lagoon Blue. I dont think the bottom layer would be so beautiful still if I hadnt have used Turquoise and Lagoon Blue previously. It was barely faded when I redyed it)

But right now I'm focusing on SFX Blue velvet.

Freshly dyed:

A couple washes:

Don't mind the smoke in the picture, it's dark for the first couple weeks when the light isn't hitting it:

a few more washes, still dark but lightening up:

This is after 10 washes and its starting to look beautiful even when not in direct light

and even prettier in the light:

Now, after 16 washes it's beautiful! I absolutely love it right now, and it's been over a month. For the record, the pink I had used previously turned a disgusting orange so when I put the Atomic Pink in my hair, it was over a hideous orange colour. I'm sure the fading would have been a lot nicer if I had normal blonde hair when I used the SFX (Atomic Pink, the Blue Velvet was over a very pale blue). These were taken on a rainy day so there wasn't a very good light source:

It's hard to explain the true colour, and I don't think pictures really capture it. It's dark, and bright and vibrant all at the same time. Pictures can only capture so many tones at a time, even though there's a lot of depth to it. That's why I posted so many.

You can see more pictures here if you need to, so you can see what it looks like covering the entire head and not in between two colours.
also, a couple columns down there is a picture of purple hair and it says "Faded: 2 months"

I know it's really dark at first, but it does shine like velvet and it's beautiful. I'm not going to lie, it does stain your pillow. Just make sure you wash it out really well the first time you wash it, you don't need to worry about the colour fading quickly. Also, click "search by brand and colour" near the top of the page and you can see all sorts of colours. I suggest SFX in general (Especially Atomic Pink). Not Fishbowl though - for a lighter blue I suggest Directions Lagoon Blue. Their Turquoise is also nice in my opinion if you're going for a "teal" opposed to a bright blue turquoise. they're the most beautiful colours in my experience (Ive been dying my hair for 10 years) so even if they arent the best out there, they're definitely better than your average Manic Panic. In some places, Directions is called Punky Colours and apparently some of their colours aren't very good. I've heard mixed reviews about Atlantic Blue, apparently it lasts over 2 months when used with a sulphate free shampoo.
